[타이베이(대만)=디지털데일리 배태용, 고성현기자] 젠슨 황 엔비디아 최고경영자(CEO)가 이번주 한국 방문을 앞두고 국내 업체들에 대한 중요성을 강조했다. 특히 메모리반도체 협력사인 삼성전자와 SK하이닉스를 비롯해 네이버 등과의 회동 등이 거론되면서 국내 반도체 및 IT 업계의 관심이 쏠리고 있다.

젠슨 황 CEO는 1일 대만 타이베이에서 열린 '코리아 파트너 나잇' 현장에서 한국 취재진들과 만나 "한국은 저희 생태계의 핵심적인 부분"이라며 "한국은 물론 엔비디아와 칩 분야에서 협력하지만 D램도 있다. 또 엔비디아는 한국의 과학, 로보틱스, 그리고 물론 AI 팩토리도 지원하고 있어 할 일이 많다"며 이처럼 밝혔다.

또 최근 방한을 결정하게 된 계기를 묻는 질문에는 "좋은 친구들이 많기 때문"이라며 "그들은 여러 해 동안 저를 지원해줬고 올해 우리는 매우 좋은 한 해를 보냈다. 그래서 그들을 축하하고 감사하며 올해 하반기와 내년의 매우 바쁜 일정을 준비하고 싶다"고 설명했다.

황 CEO는 SK하이닉스와의 협력 상황을 묻는 질문에 "우리는 SK와 매우 긴밀히 협력해야 한다. 또 알다시피 우리는 SK와 매우 오랜 좋은 관계를 갖고 있고, 최근 (시가총액) 1조달러 기업이 됐기에 자랑스럽고 성공을 보게 돼 기쁘다"고 강조했다.

삼성전자, SK하이닉스가 공급 중인 고대역폭메모리(HBM)에 대해서도 "매우 복잡하고 성능, 품질, 신뢰성이 중요하다"고 치켜세웠다.
이어 대만 타이베이에서 이례적으로 국내 파트너사를 대상으로 한 행사를 연 것에 대해 "파트너들에게 감사하고 함께 축하하기 위한 자리다. 우리를 위해 열심히 일해주었다. 미래를 준비하는 자리이기도 하다"라고 강조했다.
